Congratulations on the vehicle.
When assessing rust you need to know whether it's coming from the inside or outside. I would definitely treat it, have a look at this company, I've used the Hydrate 80 so far which is easy to use. I don't have long term knowledge of it though:

Not a guide, but hopefully with everyones advice it can be.
I have a few scratches in the paintwork on the roof that have bubbled and need attention. Whats the best way going forward to fix them? Sand then with some sand paper, blow dust off with compressed air and then primer? Repeat process a fe times then paint?
Or use that stuff that converts rust into not rust, and then paint?
