Hullllooo,

Hiya,

We are South Wales owners! Just had a smash in our rascie camper and so looks like we will be selling the lil fella. There isn't some massive miracle and you are a mechanic is there? Part of the reason we are just going to see our rascie squashed is cos we can't find a decent person to help fix (we had another one that was written off as no-one wold repair it...).

We are in Ponty (well, Treforest actually).

Any tips?

Cheers

yes if its not repairable.....or too expensive to repair....then sell it as spares.... or buy another and you have all the spares you will need...you need to weigh it up and decide if you want to spend money getting it repaired or spend money buying something else.....oh and when you driving watch out for things comming towards you..lol...hope all involved are ok...good luck   keep your chin up...CHOP

Hi Chop!

Defo not worth selling as repairs as it's just a small knock on the drivers side which has pushed the door out and the radiator cracked. Spent loads in the summer towing it to Derek and having a pop roof put it and the engine cleaned up. Got the complete original danbury rascal camper insides and everything. We are just completely fed up of things going wrong for us and relentlessly shelling out money Sad Absolutely nothing we could do in the accident as a tiny back lane and a guy just came round the corner and slid on the ice straight into us. Nobody could stop (even though going slow) as there was no purchase on the road. I just bawled as I couldn't believe our luck. Second time accident and after we have put all that money getting the van converted Sad Gutted.

Hopefully someone will see and love him and appreciate him and want to fix him and put the inside in properly.

If we had a decent mechanic/bodywork guy close that we trusted we would have the work done but nobody wants to touch the rascals near us and it's just so frustrating- that why we ended up paying hundreds of pounds having the 2 rascies towed to Derek to do the roof conversion for us Sad

Soooo, if you know anyone who wants a half finished rascie camper, pop roof already in, all the original insides, with a squished door and cracked radiator just let us know hahaha!

(We just collected a Toyota Townace double bed conversion from Leeds yesterday. It's not half as cute but it still looks quite groovy!).

Sorry! Collision was head on and that's why the rad cracked. The drivers door is warped as the brunt must have been on that side of the front- if you know what I mean. We took some photos, I'll get Bob to put them up tomo and perhaps we could get some opinions on fixing costs...

Beautiful day here in South Wales Chop- hope it is with all other Rascal lovers Smiley

There's some photos of the 2 vans we have amalgamated on the 'vanbay' section. The white pop roof and side doors have been put in the blue one.

More anon....

Aha it worked. This is the raca2ee this very morning! Check out his swanky pop roof Smiley

Bump damage is negligible from this angle as you can see- more to follow...

None of the inside yet sorry! It's a traditional Danbury inside in the original blue and white 'tweedy' check/tartan effect. Cupdoard, lift up sink/cooker unit and seats etc. These are in my hall at the mo' but we will try and lay them in the van so you can see layout.

All enquiries welcome.

Please someone love our van and make him better!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's some piccies with his roof popped and also on his hols. The window is not broken, we have just put plastic over to stop rain getting in where it is warped.

Hi Em n Bob,

OW! I bet that made you jump!!
But the damage isn't that bad really, it is repairable. What status is it with the insurance people, that's the only concern about it being back on the road really?
