Out side in the shade it has been about 40 celcius (104 far) and 25 celcius ( 77 far) at night.this is no joke ,you can crack an egg and cook it on the concrete during the day.when i go on a job and the van is in the sun, when hopping back in the van it is about 60 celcius ( 140 far)...i believe in global warming...thats life in australia...ken

It`s minus 2 *c. here & I am just in from a 100 mile ride on my Norton Dominator. Light snow & ice on the road here & there.  Bloody cold but two pub stops helped. Derek.

Hi,Ken, any auto electrician should be able to test the van to estimate the Max load of that vans system or you could run the air con from a second battery as like a motor home but ask an expert first

The van is 12v, alternator is 40Amp:

You have a portable generator capable of up-to: 480Watts constant power

Factor in say 80W for all ancillaries operating...

400W to play with  Wink

Find a compact car air conditioner that can run off that much...and your done...

or just pop in a bigger alternator Smiley

I do know of fridge/freezer rascals with a massive thingy on the roof...so I imagine there is enough power, you just need to find a suitable unit.

oh...and send that weather over here...it's bloody freezing!, lol

Or mount another double drive pulley somewhere driven of the engine fan belt or mounted on the front of the crankshaft drive pulley & drive an a/c compressor unit without using electric power. Fridge unit on the roof is best because they usually can be plugged into 240 volts when not driving to keep the van cool. Derek.
